Nichino America, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nihon Nohyaku Co. Ltd. based in Japan. Nihon Nohyaku Co. Ltd., established in 1928, is Japan’s oldest agrochemical manufacturing company. The history of Nichino America's parent company, Nihon Nohyaku, can be traced to the first agrochemical ever developed in Japan. Nihon Nohyaku, the recipient of many prestigious chemical technology awards, today is an innovative leader in the global agrochemical and pharmaceuticals industries.
In 1995, a representative office of Nihon Nohyaku was established in New York. At that time, the company licensed its chemistries to other agrochemical companies. The company later incorporated as Nichino America, Inc., relocated to Delaware, and in 2001 began formulating Nichino America products from chemistry developed in Japan. The Delaware-based company started with one product and six employees.
Today, Nichino America offers 25 crop protection products known for their efficacy on target pests, ease of application, and excellent fit with integrated pest management and resistance management programs. Nichino America espouses to market and sell unique chemistry that has been extensively researched and tested; model product placement through best-use practices; and to create credibility with customers based on trust, knowledge, and superior customer service. In addition, the company licenses active ingredients to third parties in the turf, ornamental, and greenhouse segments. Most recently, in February 2021, Nichino America established a subsidiary, Nichino Mexico, to serve the agribusiness in Mexico.
