Moussy-le-Vieux, France - Tereos announced that it has sold its Tereos UK and Ireland (TUKI) production site in Normanton, West Yorkshire, and its B2C business to T&L Sugars Limited (TLS).
This marks the end of an officially approved operation by the UK Competition Authority (CMA) on 5 September.
The Tereos UK plant packages and distributes white granulated, bakery and speciality sugar to UK retailers and food wholesalers under the Whitworths Sugar brand as well as various private labels.
The transaction is for B2C business only and Tereos will continue to trade with its industrial customers (B2B) under the TUKI name.
Tereos, which is pursuing all its other sales activities to the BtoB customers in the UK, is delighted with this acquisition by Tate & Lyle Sugars, assuring the continuity of jobs, packing and storage operations.
